I enjoyed this book more than I thought I would! Contemporary, set in England, Harold Fry has just retired when he receives a letter from an old work buddy. Queenie Hennessey writes to say goodbye; she is at the end of her life. Harold composes a reply, then walks to the postbox to send it. Deciding that was not enough effort, he walks on, and on, until he realizes that he is walking to see Queenie, hoping she will stay alive until he reaches her. Great writing about his journey, his postcards and phone calls home, the people he meets along the way, and the revelation he has while walking. Well written and a very engaging main character, A hopeful, delightfully "G" rated book for a change.
